Attendance
Players should plan to attend all scheduled tryout sessions for their age group.
If you can attend tryouts but will miss one or more sessions, please note the dates you will miss in the Tryout Attendance Notes section of your registration.
Example: “I will miss the first day of tryouts.”

Missing Tryouts Completely?
NASC understands that vacations and other commitments can overlap with the tryout window. Players who are unable to attend their scheduled tryout sessions may still be considered for a NASC competitive team. If you will miss all tryout sessions, please complete the following steps:

1. Complete the online tryout registration process
2. Note in the Tryout Attendance Notes that you will miss all sessions. Example: “I will not be able to attend tryouts.”
3. Contact Director of Coaching Henry Mpagi at henry@northalabamasc.org

NASC will make arrangements for players unable to attend tryouts to complete an evaluation at a later date.

Playing Up
Players currently playing up or intending to try out for the next age group should complete the tryout registration using their true birth date and select the age group for evaluation.

Please include any play-up notes in the Additional Notes/Info section of your registration.
All playing-up requests require approval from the Director of Coaching. If needed, families will be contacted after registration with evaluation instructions.

U8 Players Trying Out for U9
True U8 players (born AUG 1, 2018 – JULY 31, 2019) who wish to play on a 9U team should:

• Register using their true birth date
• Select 9U as their evaluation age group
• Include a note in the Additional Notes/Info section indicating the request to play up.

U9-U12 Evaluations
Tryouts for U9-U12 are conducted as player evaluations to determine team placement.

• All players will be placed on a team
• ​​​​There are NO cuts at the U9-U12 levels
• Players may also be offered placement in our training-only program

Players must still complete registration and attend evaluations to be placed appropriately.

Goalkeepers
All returning and new goalkeepers are required to register and attend tryouts with their selected age group.
