Fall 2021 RTC Update

Our Fall 2021 competitive season is now in full-swing. As we make preparations for start of Alabama State League, NL, and DPL seasons and the kick-off of our Rec program, we continue to monitor the developing situation with the COVID-19 variant and its potential impact to our club.

As the number of cases continue to rise in our state and Madison County, we want to keep our community safe and keep our teams on the field by limiting the disruption that COVID-19 has on our season. We have updated our Return-to-Competition (RTC) guidelines. Please review the RTC update by clicking HERE.

We will continue to remain flexible and adjust our RTC guidelines as needed throughout the season. All updates will be posted to the NASC COVID-19 page. You can view the page by clicking HERE.

While masks are not required, we encourage everyone to demonstrate and exercise personal responsibility regarding COVID-19 to ensure a safe playing and training environment for everyone involved by doing the following:

  • Adhering to NASC’s amended RTC guidelines
  • Conducting a Self Screen prior to attending or participating in a practice, game, scrimmage, friendly, or other NASC hosted or sanctioned event
  • Staying home if you are sick or have any COVID-19 or flu-like symptoms
  • Reporting player exposure to or infection of COVID-19 to NASC
    • Notify your Coach and/or the NASC Admin (admin@northalabamasc.org) if you have been exposed to or infected with COVID-19. This allows the NASC team to follow-up with you directly and determine the appropriate next steps regarding the isolation from soccer activities for the player, team, coach, or others that may be affected as well as notification of any affected opponents.
  • Following the RTC process for returning to play after exposure to or infection of COVID-19

NASC continues to recommend the following while at the fields:

  • Practicing good hygiene such as handwashing, using hand sanitizer, and covering coughs and sneezes
  • Unvaccinated individuals to wear a mask or facial covering when not actively participating in a NASC sanctioned event or activity
  • Social distancing from persons of different households
  • Wearing a mask or facial covering when you are not able to social distance from persons of a different household
  • Avoiding hugs, high-fives, handshakes, and fist bumps
  • Not sharing food or water

Please follow local protocols for games and events that your team attends outside of Madison County as they can differ by city, county, and state.

Thank you for doing your part to ensure our community remains safe and our players can be on the field!
