Tryouts and evaluations are open to all boys and girls ages 8-18. Group schedules, packet, tryout # pick-up dates, and field assignments will be posted to this page over the next few weeks.

Tryout and Evaluations Dates

• Boys NPL Tryouts (Birth Years 2010-2004) - May 14-15, 2022
• Girls DPL Tryouts (Birth Years 2010-2004) - May 16-18, 2022
• Boys & Girls 13U-19U Competitive Tryouts (Birth Years 2010-2004) - May 16-18, 2022
• Boys & Girls 9U-12U Evaluations (Birth Years 2015-2011) - May 23-25, 2022

Junior Academy players (4U-8U boys and girls born between 2018-2015) and all recreational players (all ages) do not need to tryout or be evaluated. Registration for these programs is open year round. Learn more at NASC Rec.

9U-12U COMPETITIVE EVALUATION SCHEDULE

Tryouts & Evaluations for all age groups will be held at Merrimack Soccer Complex - Grass Fields located at 3501 Triana Blvd, Huntsville, AL 35801.

Attendance

Plan to attend all scheduled tryout sessions for your selected age group. If you will be able to attend tryouts, but will miss 1 or more tryout sessions for your age group, note what days/sessions you will miss in the Tryout Attendance Notes on your tryout registration. Ex: I will miss the 1st day of tryouts.  

Missing Tryouts Completely? NASC understands that other commitments and vacation schedules can overlap with the tryout window. If you are going to miss all of your age group's tryout window and/or miss tryouts completely, you can still be considered for a NASC competitive team. Please take the following steps:

• Complete the online tryout registration process
• Note that you are missing all tryout sessions in the Tryout Attendance Notes on your tryout registration. Ex: I will not be able to attend tryouts.  
• Contact Director of Coaching Henry Mpagi at henry@northalabamasc.org

NASC will make arrangements with those players not able to attend tryouts to complete an assessment at a later date.

Playing-Up

Players that are currently playing-up or intend to tryout for the next age group up should complete the tryout registration process normally using their true birth date and selecting their tryout or evaluation age group. Include any Play-up notes in the Additional Notes/Info field. 

Playing-up requires DOC approval. If you select to play-up, the DOC will review your request. If needed, you will be contacted post registration with tryout/evaluation instructions for your player.

8U Playing-Up at 9U

True 8U players (born Jan 1 - Dec 31, 2015) that want to play-up on a 9U team will need to complete the tryout registration process normally using their true birth date. Select the 9U age group as your evaluation group.

Include any Play-up notes in the Additional Notes/Info field. 

9U-12U Evaluations

Tryouts for the 9U-12U age groups are treated as Player Evaluations in order to determine team placement. All players that tryout for 9U-12U are placed on a team. There are NO "CUTS" for these select age groups. Players still need to complete the tryout registration process and attend tryouts to be evaluated for team placement.

Goalkeepers

Returning and new goalkeepers are required to register and attend tryouts with their selected age group. 

North Alabama SC works to promote and develop a broad range of soccer opportunities for local youth players and their families. We offer financial assistance opportunities based on a combination of merit and need.
